What are Battlebinds?

Battlebinds are a communications solution for the hardened Call of Duty UO player. While specifically tailored to Base Assault the binds contained within have noteworthy applications in all gametypes, especially in Headquarters games.

How do I install them?

All of the binds are contained in a config file. Everyone has a config file that contains your key binds for your game. Inside the Battlebinds 1.5 .rar file there is a read me that will give you step by step instructions for installation.

What else is there in the Battlebinds package?

In addition to the communications package the config contains the optimal layout for your control keys. FORCE316's collective First Person Shooter experience ranges from Wolfenstein to America’s Army and has led to an expert knowledge in the field of ergonomics in relation to FPS control. The control binds are adjustable at any point so if you are not comfortable with the keys feel free to change them. In the interest of maintaining the integrity of the Battlebinds System please do not change any of the keys outside the control key area on the Battlebinds layout.

This is the Battlebinds 1.5 layout. The current version is Battlebinds 1.51

Warning - This setup assumes that you have a mouse with a 3rd button (push wheel). This is used for the melee attack and switching between primary weapons. If you do not have a pushable wheel... get a better mouse. The other option is that you come up with a reasonable accommodation on your own. :)

Record your games with the push of a button

Now you can record your gameplay and spectating just by pressing the F4 key to start and stop.

Your demos will be recorded in a folder called demos. It will be called something like this “demo0000.dm_2”

The demo folder will be in your uo or main directories unless you are playing on a server that is modded and get its own folder in your COD directory.

To play your captured demos back just move the dm_2 file to your “call of duty/uo/demos” folder. This is where it has to be for the game use it for playback.

Start your game and when your at the main menu open the console window (~) and type the following

demo demo0000.dm_2

Syntax is "demo [filename]"

To stop playing disconnect.

Battlebinds Reorganized

Battlebinds have now been reorganized and include an easier to read refernce page so you can acustom yourself to the system quicker.

New keys have been added!!!

A new section has been added to the Arty subsysem of Battlebinds. There is now a key to denote the specific objective that you are bringing the Arty down on. The original arty keys have been moved somewhat but are still part of the system to cover other situations in which the objective-specific binds would not apply.

The Battlebinds 1.5 download a .rar file which is like a .zip file. A rar is like a box that you put several things into so that you do not have to hand them over one at a time. Another plus is that rars allow you to maintain your files integrity when transferring over the web. This is a big must when transferring text based config files.

The instructions to hook up the Battlebinds are in the readme. Step by step. Super easy. The readme is IN THE RAR FILE. You must open the box to get the files. There are hundreds of unrar programs out there for free. Get one.

I have tested it several times and it’s safe for everyone. It’s set up so that after the config file is in your directories your PC does all the work and writes in its own information. Usually when you put a COD config from one PC to another, the 2nd it gets confused because it the config is written for 1st PC. I have found a way around that. Now it works on all PCs.

I'm a pretty good player and half the reason is that I have all my stuff set up very, very well. I had my game set up for awhile like this and I really wanted to share my innovation with everyone else. When I spectate I can tell that 90% of guys have a terrible setup for their keys. That’s a big part of the Battlebinds. Its half key setup and half communications system. I hope you will give it a try. It may take a few days to get used to but I can almost guarantee your playing ability will increase.

I would also suggest that you play without the crosshairs on. Without crosshairs you will focus on the battlefield more and less on yourself. This will allow you to spot enemies that split second sooner. The time it takes to crouch, have crosshairs settle and then fire from the hip is longer and less accurate than simply aiming down the sites (ADS) and taking your shot. In addition, using your right mouse button to ADS only while its engaged as opposed to the double clicking toggle to ADS gives you a much more fluid style of play as you are only releasing the button to move again and not having to engage in a second seperate mental/physical action to attain full mobility. Shoot n Scoot.

The .rar file is only 100 kbs. Follow the instructions and you can hook it up in a minute or two. (untested on MAC)
